Back in November I officially announced Voxsmith. Then I pulled it back.
Voxsmith is a PowerPoint narration tool that uses ElevenLabs voices to automate the process of creating audio for presentations and eLearning content. The app worked, but I wanted to spend more time refining it, cleaning up the workflow, and adding a few features that would make it more useful for the people who do this kind of work every day.
After using Voxsmith throughout the last year, I’m ready to put it back out into the world.
Voxsmith creates high-quality narration from your PowerPoint speaker notes using your ElevenLabs voices. Once the audio is generated, Voxsmith backs up your slide animations, attaches the audio, and restores the animations automatically. The result is a presentation that’s ready for production with almost no manual work.
As someone who works in Learning & Development, this has been a game changer.
Before Voxsmith, the process looked something like this:
- Log into ElevenLabs
- Create a Studio session
- Configure voice settings
- Create chapters for every slide
- Copy and paste speaker notes
- Generate audio
- Download and extract the files
- Rename everything
- Manually Import audio into PowerPoint
It’s a lot of repetitive work.
Voxsmith automates the entire process.
Point it at a PowerPoint deck, select a voice, choose an output folder, and let it do the rest.
Voxsmith also performs a post-processing step that delivers high-quality WAV files instead of the MP3 files normally returned by ElevenLabs. If you’re a Storyline user, you already know why that’s useful.
Recent updates include voice speed and stability controls, giving you even more control over the final narration. You can also generate audio directly from Microsoft Word documents or Markdown files. Add chapter markers, choose an output folder, and Voxsmith will generate individual audio files automatically.
I’ve been using Voxsmith every week alongside three members of my team. For me, it consistently saves one to two days of production time on every PowerPoint project.
