Wrapping up with Fireball’s site launch and before my next client launch, I wanted to officially launch Creator Base at donburnside.com.
Creator Base was created because I wasn’t finding a WordPress theme that worked the way I wanted it to, or had the options that I needed. Also, I didn’t want to have to install a bunch of plugins for my site to work correctly. And, I am using this for client work, so _it has to work.
And, so far it does and it does so very well. It has a hero area with almost a limitless number of configuration options. Want a giant photo banner like I have? Need to show off your latest video or podcast, while supporting your sponsor or collecting email? Want a fancy carousel? Do you need the ability to promote sponsors? 5 color areas to be modified, 2 background images. You can get it tied up in some pretty fun knots!
Not only that, but it’s allowed me to set the site up to really focus on me. My writing, my photography, my podcasts, my apps. If you are going to be looking for what I’m currently doing, donburnside.com is the place to start.
I’ll give you a sneak peak on my current project; donburnside.com/carshow. it is for a very VERY nice ’68 Pontiac Firebird. The car goes on display at the upcoming Grand National Roadster Show. Which means a lot of people could be seeing this website.

Federation broke late last year for those wondering if I’m still publishing to the fediverse. it’s medium priority while I have client work ongoing. As I am adding this functionality to all of the sites, making this work is key.
