It’s been a while

Everyday at work I load up this site because it is one of the few sites that trigger a login to the corporate WiFi on my phone. Everyday I see that damned cauliflower post and haven’t thought anything about it. Until yesterday.

Time for a Post

As you know, in the tag line for this site is “…and a crap load of archives”. Going through said archives, I believe, will not show an entire year without a post. This post is serving that purpose for 2019. It’s been a busy year! Here is a short list of things that have happened that I have not posted about here.

  • I had 2 bicycles stolen
  • I got a new job
  • I replaced 1 of the bicycles
  • We bought a house
  • I replaced the other bicycle

Somewhere in there, I had to do some roof repair on the MINI too. And do some traveling for the new job. And make a change at the new job to put me in a different role. And learn to use words like ‘role’.

All the while, the sites were neglected. I mean, I was keeping them up-to-date with versions and all that, they just weren’t getting new content. Did I mention it’s been a busy year?

Back to yesterday, part of the work that I did was set up each of the sites (here plus 5 others) (yes, 5) to have a little more security. They are now forcing you to load the site via https instead of plain, boring, unsecured http. They aren’t perfect but getting closer everyday. Maybe you can leave a comment now?

As for the new job, I decided to start focusing on my training and on-boarding, so I got a job doing exactly that, but with a sizable pay increase and the possibility for advancement and other work. Which I have taken advantage of to move into doing instructional design work. I have a lot to learn yet but it’s been pretty exciting to get into it!

Like I said, it’s been a busy year. Keep following me on Twitter and Instagram for the most up-to-date stuff and pretty pictures. Stick around here and watch as I make a solid attempt to start sitting down to write again.
