another blog tool to try

Honestly, for a complete and total lack of anything extra to do right now in those few spare moments when i would only stare blankly at the wall, I’ve decided to once again whore myself out to yet another blogging tool.

So far I have used blogger and greymatter. Really dug greymatter, but my host bitched. They bitched about MT too, but I can only imagine that there was a HUGE uproar over that, so they rescinded. Anyway, they have stopped bitching about web logging software.

The new piece I am trying is the latest incarnation of b2, called WordPress. PHP based (not cgi), running off of a mySQL table for just about everything. Lots of nifty tools for the templates. Cool comments. Easy to install too. I’m still playing with it for, and have my tester about 90% complete (you can see it here). Like I said, so far I like it. Full report once setup is complete.

Oh yea, capt. pancake has returned from his hellish family outting. Who wants to bet he doesn’t post again for another 4 days?

Made an add-on to the company IT purchase from Gateway. Most of you should know that when you purchase new stuff from a large company, they want to get as much money from you as possible, so they rock the mad discounts on periph’s and whatnot to help out. Well, I took advantage of that today in the shape of 1 15″ lcd monitor (for the lad) for $220 and 1 17″ lcd monitor (for my boss) for $380. I think those prices were beyond fair, and too good to pass up.

And, I finally went to the doc today about my knee, which has been bothering me for the better part of the last 6 months. He is trying to blame the MINI, but I will wait until next week when I get blasted with a 1M rads of nuclear energy to find out what the real problem is. I just hope that they use the lead apron, maybe even doubled up, so as best protect the, um, ‘junk’?
