WP 2.6?

Posted in WordPress Fixes — by Don on 07/15/08

It seems like only yesterday I was upgrading a whole bunch of sites to WordPress 2.5.

Now, 2.6 has been released. And yes, you are soaking in it.

First things first. Out of date plug-ins are now noted directly above the link for the plugins page to alert you that you are some that are in need of updates. I like that. Then I clicked the turbo button.

This installed a Google Firefox plugin that is supposed to allow for better performance from the wp-admin. As I already have a connection that gives me speeds that makes it feel like a desktop app, we shall see if it gets any better. If you are on a pokey DSL line, I’m sure you’ll notice a difference straight away.

But, that’s all for now. It’s late (after 2am) and I think I’m finally tired. So I will play more.

After I sleep.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought it was a little quick for the 2.6 release.

A month ahead of schedule – what modern software company releases gold versions a month ahead of schedule? I mean if WordPress is going to be like everybody else then they needed to release 2.6 five or six months late…
