It’s just a quarter

From Waiterrant this week.

“How much money does the town make off these meters?” I ask.

The DPW guy tells me the town’s annual haul from its five hundred meters. It’s enough to pay the salaries of two or three teachers.

A while ago I remember hearing how GM saved millions of dollars each year by not painting the inside of ashtrays that were installed in cars. American Airlines also saved millions by not putting a tomato wedge on salads it served during flights.

The little things can make a big difference. Something to think about.
