Christmas Ideas #3

Everyone has a cell phone these days. At least everyone I know. Heck, my 80 year old grandmother not only has a cell phone, but she knows how to use it!

Why not jazz that phone up a bit? You could get a new case (about 18,000 to choose from for just about any phone) or pick up a cool bluetooth gizmo. And yes, there is more to Bluetooth than just headsets my friends. Speakers, headsets and even a helmet kit.

Go forth and be wirelessly cool.

Christmas Idea #2

I have one, so should you. It’s the Joby GorillaPod. Super handy, works with almost any camera and fits in almost any bag. You would be crazy to not have one of these. I’ve been using one for close to 2 years and it’s great. By far the best camera accessory I have purchased.

Bet you can think of a few people this would make a good gift for, right? If you buy 2 you’ll save almost $11 and get $5 worth of MP3 downloads for free!

Go forth and take non-blurry photos.

Christmas Idea – Music

Not sure if I told y’all about this, but Amazon is having a great sale on MP3 downloads. I think it might only be going until the end of the week, so you might want to jump in on it!

That’s how I found about about the album linked below by Vampire Weekend. It’s very quirky but very good. Follow the link above (or below for you Safari users) to preview the album, especially the song Bryn. Good stuff that I think you will like.

Don’t forget the cool thing about Amazon MP3s is that there isn’t any DRM! That means you can use the music anyway you like, including on a non-iPod MP3 player like the BlackBerry Storm.

Oh, and the sale. Click here to check out 50 mp3 albums selling at $5 each!

Christmas Idea #1

Looking for ideas for Christmas? Keep an eye here for a few between now and the 20th. Like today for example.

Amazon has a screaming deal on the USB/Firewire Drobo drive bay. For those of you that aren’t familiar with it. From Drobo.com

The safe, expandable Drobo™ storage solution protects your data against a hard drive crash, yet can expand dynamically at any time in just seconds. With nothing to configure or manage, Drobo is now the ideal solution for primary storage as well as backup.”

It will take any size drive up to 4TB and they don’t even have to match. It builds the redundancy automatically so you don’t have to do anything more than watch the lights and swap drives when they go bad.

I mentioned the smokin’ deal? Click the Amazon link above to get the Drobo for $100 the normal price. Amazon is offering an instant $50 off plus a mail-in for an additional $50.

So it may be a little spendy, but it’s a great device and we all know the importance of a good backup, right?
