Been a fairly hectic week here and ended with a loud, thunderous bang. Not good, but at the same time, very good. More details on this later. I’d tell you know, but honestly, it’s fairly embarrassing so I want to wait until it’s funny.
There are few things I’m trying this week. Here is what I think.
Transmit
As Josh says, “me likey Panic apps”, and I would have to agree. I’ve played with coda and it’s brilliant. It’s a bit pricey for me, but one day I will have it in my quiver.
What’s not quite as spendy, but one everyone recommended, is Transmit. FTP software for the Mac that, oddly enough, works like Mac software should. Even better still, it works the way FTP software should, which has caused me a slight problem.
I was updating dbmini and wrr to the latest greatest WP. Silly me, I forgot to save a copy (or rename) wp-content, so I lost all of the themes, plugins and images I have uploaded using the built in uploader. Oops. When I do the same thing using FireFTP (The firefox extension), it never over-rights that folder for some reason.
So, besides the other things I need to do this weekend, I also have to rebuild those two sites, kinda. Oh well. About par for my week.
Times
A new RSS reader for the Mac. Leopard only and different from every other news reader I have ever seen. Pretty strong releasing at version 1.0, but I can tell you that it’s not quite to 1.0 stability. I’ve used it for a couple of days now and it has crashed on me 3 times, one time even crashing Camino in the process. But, I think it’s worthy so I will keep playing with it.
Live show this morning. Thanks to those of you that stopped by to check it out. We will be doing this more often, so keep an eye out (especially on Twitter) for the next one.
Finally, I posted a new video over at Viddler. A little talk about old technology and the laziness of people at the drive thru. It’s fun and you should comment. If you can’t comment, sign up for a free account over there already. All the cool kids are doing it!
