Gorilla Pod Test

Picked up a Joby Gorillapod at Fry’s today. Pretty slick.

Wrapped the legs around the passenger side door of the MINI and whipped up a test.

Nice quality video this time – do anything special with it? Perhaps the stability of the camera helps? I have a stickypod that I bought to film videos from the cockpit, its a little big for in the car but would work. It will stick anywhere, and let you film any angle.

mounted it to a gorillapod on the passenger side door. That’s it. I saw some mounts with suction cups that I might go back and get next week. For now, I’m going to try to find a better mounting location that might be, um, more flattering. At least until I can double up the time at the gym.

I picked one up at the Best Buy tonight. It takes some rangling but it can be mounted to the seat belt pulley thing. Does the MINI not have a jeebus handle? The Taurus is lacking in that department.

MINIs do, mine does not. Although I like the seat belt idea. Might have to try that.

I’ve got a Gorilla Pod for my DSLR, it’s always in my bag. It’s amazing how versatile that thing is…

What about wrapping the legs around the passenger side headrest mount for a profile? Or would there be too much light coming in your window for that?

I had the exact same idea driving the lad to school this morning! I’ll be trying that later today.

What’s a jeebus handle? Is that like sissy straps?

We call ‘em “oh shit” handles….the handle above the window, passenger side. Don’t suppose you have one either.

ok, yeah, like the sissy straps I used to have on the jeep. And yeah, no such luxury on the ‘vert
