Gettin’ caught up on The Office, season 2. Watch for more random quotes.
Anyway, had an Uncle Don weekend here at el casa this weekend. X-Men marathon, good dinner and, of course, cinnamon rolls and icy cold glasses of milk for breakfast. Hey, my crew likes cinnamon rolls dammit!
There was an actual reason for this weekend. Sis and brother-in-law had their 13th wedding anniversay last Monday and they wanted to do something nice this weekend. As it turns out they had a gift card to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse that they needed to use. For those of you not familiar, this is about as swank a joint you are going to find. Great food, great service. Not cheap by any means, but totally worth it.
But first, a little history about my sis and restaurants.
In the last 10 years there isn’t a restaurant in Southern California that my sister hasn’t gone to and had a horrible experience. Not only that, but she would have a bad experience and go back. Again and again and again. I honestly think she brings it on herself, but whatever.
So they go out Saturday night to the location in Del Mar. I, of course, have to ask how it was. First thing out of her mouth was ‘it was ok, but I could have done better’ and ‘I think the sous chef’s phoned it in since we were at the first seating’.
I can only say that:
- I’m glad I wasn’t there
- she couldn’t have done a better job
- she should stay home and only eat hamburger helper for the rest of her life
How annoying. Don’t even get me started on the MLM/Make-up thing she is getting into now.
It’s at times like this when she is no longer my sister. Instead, she is my brother-in-laws wife.
At least the kids and I had a good time. There were go-carts involved. And air hockey. I already mentioned the cinnamon rolls too, right?
More as time allows.
