out and about, looking for some old comics. Calvin and Hobbes to the rescue!
In my search, I come across this page. The fact that it’s kinda creepy notwithstanding, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and check the last updated date. November 7th, 2002!
Earlier I clicked a link to a news story at some news organization that was well over a year old and the link was still valid!
Not lately but I do keep running across these old, outdated sites. Heck, one of my very first sites hosted by Earthlink was up for almost 2 years after that account was cancelled! Not too long ago I actually came across a site done is nothing but raw HTML that was dated ‘96. I don’t even think jSchwa was born yet.
Isn’t it possible to set a maxAgeRange for internet documents? Or maybe Mr. Quail could setup the internet for pruning or something?
I’m all about the archives, really. But after 3 years, let it go man, let it go.
