I’ve kicked my work out up a few more notches lately and it really helps me when I start feeling crappy. 220lbs by AMVIV. I **will** make it.

• Amazon’s _frustration-free_ packaging for SD cards. Awesome.
• Grilled dark meat chicken
• Spanish wine
• Hanging out with teh lad taking photos of the fire in the fireplace
• Getting excited about the upcoming swim season
• Having a clean desk
• Having a new mixer on my desk
• Figuring out, kinda, how to export HD movies from iMovie

One thing that isn’t on that list is writing. I didn’t do near enough of it this week and I’m starting to feel a nice, crusty layer form over my words and keyboard. Back to carrying the notebook and camera for me. I really need to keep up with the creating stuff.

New Toys

I’ve had a $50 Amazon.com gift certificate burning a hole in my account for the last month, so I thought I would use that to get a new toy or two, plus a book for the lad.

First up, a replacement clip for my Gorilla Pod. I lost the original one somewhere and Amazon sells them for $5, so that’s done.

The other thing I’ve been wanting to get is a mono pod to use with the The Flip. You might have seen the test I posted the other day. So far, I think it’s pretty awesome. I can’t wait to try it with the other cameras in the house either.

It’s an Opteka. Collapsed it’s only about 18″ long. Fully extended it’s 6′. Lightweight, nice handle with a wrist strap and it even has a spike on the bottom if I’m in grass or dirt. Pretty snazzy. Oh yea, and cheap! This only cost $12.95. Not too shabby.

You will see this device in use at MTTS LA for sure. Just look for the dork carrying the black walking stick, that will be me.

Wordpress stuff

As much as I’m totally diggin’ the new pressd section, I’m still not 100% happy with the way it works. I managed to make the single post pages look right and the navigation is pretty ok, but it’s screwing up the front page. I’m not sure if I want to hunt down that particular fix or not, so I might be moving it into it’s own Wordpress installation on w(t)f. Watch for that, possibly later this week.

Next up for w(t)f as far as Wordpress goes is a modernization of the theme. I would like it to work with widgets and to get the avatars working in comments. Plus some minor refreshing of the layout is in order. Again, watch for that to happen later in the week.

I’m hoping to get those changes done and start possibly on a redo of WRR. I’ve not been pleased with it’s appearance for quite a while, and have a some huge ideas for it. So keep an eye out for that in the near future. Besides, we are 3 years old. Time for something really really cool I think!

Where is my commission

There are things that I do have some knowledge about. Computers, MINI Coopers, kitchen gear and other miscellaneous electronics. You could say that my opinion on these items is even, to a certain extent, trusted.

Some of you have this ability too. In fact, I would bet most of the w(t)f readers have, at one point, ’sold’ something. A computer, a car, a camera or other device like that.

But sometimes it feels like I do it. Alot. For example, anyone want to take a guess at how many MINIs I’ve sold? Over the last 5 years, probably close to 20. Countless cameras. A Dell laptop or two. And now, my first verified Mac.

So, who do I talk to about my commission?

While I know there isn’t a commission system, there really should be. Like, when I buy a device, I should be given some kind of code that I can share with others if they buy that device from the same company, and then I should get some kind of kickback. Maybe a discount on a future purchase? Maybe cash? I really don’t know, just something.

it’s not like I’m going to stop ’selling’, because if someone asks, I’m going to give them an answer. It’s what I do. But a little something for the effort would be nice.

Maybe I’ll just rev up the Amazon affliate code again.
