Sphere of Stupid

From the things I hate files

I believe that I am surround by stupid people that affect me everyday. You all should already be aware of this. It is a sphere that centers on me that goes out about 100 miles in every direction.

Earlier this week, the sphere shrunk in on itself and almost collapsed, which for sure would have caused a black hole of stupid.

The main culprits:

  • People that can’t follow directions, refuse to complete read directions or even bother to notice that directions exist.
  • People that have no idea what they are doing on the internet, ignore all of the warnings you see on TV, hear on radio or read in print and just start going to sites like they don’t have a care in the world.
  • Caltrans. Or, for those of you out of state readers, the California Dept. of Transportation. Well, not 100% correct, but you get the idea.

When I need to set something up that others will have to use at a later date, I go out of my way to make the process as simple as possible. Once the process is made simple, I then make it a point to make sure that the process is fully documented, start to finish. Heck, if I am feeling up to it, I will even provide screen shots.

Since I went to all of this trouble, you would think that others would take advantage of it and follow the directions, right? Yea, me too. Too bad the others are usually too stupid to follow said instructions. I don’t use big words and all process are usually tested on 1 person that I will use as my barometer for the project, but usually it’s the lad or Mom. If either of them get it, then everyone else will too.

The best is when the non-direction reading folks ask for instruction via email, quoting the directions in their email that would actually answer thier question. Copy and paste is my tool of choice here, along with a few choice words to virtually bitch slap ‘em. Same thing goes for message boards. This happen earlier in the week when someone asked for directions THAT WERE POSTED LESS THAN 1″ ABOVE THEIR NEW POST! THE ANSWER TO THEIR QUESTION WAS ON THEIR FUCKING SCREEN AND THEY WERE TOO STUPID OR LAZY TO FUCKING BOTHER READING IT AND TOOK THE TIME, AS WELL AS MINE, TO ASK AGAIN. JUST KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY YOU DUMB ASS PIECES OF SHIT! fuck.

Next up, stupid Internet users. Gang, you know the internet is not a safe place, right? I know it too. I am sure to tell all of my less intelligent users the same thing. Could you do your part and do the same? Greatly appreciated.

And, finally, how long does it take to repair a road that fell into a 120′ wide sink hole? That’s the question I keep asking as CalTrans seems to be taking their own sweet time (3 weeks so far, of perfect weather no less) in doing it. Meanwhile, I’M STUCK WITH A DAILY COMMUTE OF 5-6 HOURS THAT COSTS ME 1-2 HOURS IN BILLABLE TIME EVERY DAY! C’mon gang, lets pick up the pace a bit huh?

Ok, that’s all for now.
