Finally

Finally got to put the new server in place and fire up the new workstations! Only took 4 months!

But, as with anything with these people, it was a minor cluster f*$k. Our acct. rep came out to finish off what she had to do and said she was going to move everything to the new server now. Of course once that’s done there is no going back. So, I had about 0 notice to finish this project. Luckily Sis was watching the lad and didn’t mind having him a little late yesterday and today, otherwise I would have been screwed. Well, no, scratch that, they would have been, because nothing would have gotten done.

For the most part everything is up and running as it should be. I have a few tweaks left on the server (email, VPN and whatnot) that nobody is missing because they haven’t had it before.

Meeting with Qwest and SBC this month to get pricing on bringing a T1 line in. I’m sure this will happen sometime in ‘07, but I like to be prepared! hehe.

Otherwise it’s still raining. And I need tires. And I have to do laundry. Ugh.

Finally

Something that hasn’t happened, so I heard on the news this week, since sometime in April.

It’s raining in Southern California.

I’ll be on storm watch until further notice. I’m sure Paul Moyer is sporting major wood right about now.

Also, for those of you not paying attention, West Wing is back this coming Wednesday! It’s about f’ing time. Since it has been so long since the last season ended, Bravo is going to show the last 3 episodes of the last season, back to back, on Monday night. You can guess how I will be entertaining myself this week, right?

My IPod came last week, the b*stards sent me a 3rd generation device, not the latest model! Did they think I wouldn’t notice?? Grrr… so now I have to send it back, hassle them for a refund etc. A couple more weeks prob before I can get one to play with.

ACK! I would slay those that dare send me ‘old’ equipment! Not that I know what I am talking about, not even owning an iPod yet.
