comment moderation

Just in case this happens again…..

w(t)f employs some fairly hardcore spam controls besides those built into WordPress. If I didn’t, I would be getting emails for penis enlargement poker mortgages* all. Day. Long.

One of the filters is on words. If you try to use a word that you might have seen in a spam email, there is a pretty good chance you can’t use it in the comments.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

*Thanks jSchwa

And so begins the attempts to leave you a comment with a banned word. Except that if I did manage it I wouldn’t be able to boast of my success because the comment would be banned. Which makes it all kinda pointless. So no change there from anything else I do…

    LOL.

Oddly enough, I am able to leave a comment with a banned word or 2 (poker mortgage).

Tested this last night with master jSchwa. Must be an admin thing.

Ok I just tried to leave banned words and it didn’t post. So I guess it kind of works.

Oh it works alright! I tried to suggest db take those little white things with a glass of water, to help him sleep, and it wouldn’t post mine either. Not sure if it’s screening “pi ll s” or “in som ni a”. Let’s see if spaces tricks it. ;)
