Good afternoon, good morning, good evening. My name is Don Burnside and this is my website. On occassion, I like to sit down at my desk with a refreshing beverage and type some words into my fancy computer-box and share them with you right here on my website.
Lately, I haven’t been able to put as many words on my website via my fancy computer-box as often as some would like. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing it though. In case you missed any of it before, we all know that I’m on the Twitter (@dbwilldo), where I share 140 characters of my thoughts daily. I even talk about pants and aliens. Come on! What’s not to like there, right?
I am also posting shorting things that are too long for Twitter over at wind(the)frog(dot)not. Links, videos, funny things I find on Facebook, you know, stuff like that.
Mad updates coming soon-ish. I think. Well, more than likely.

It’s Saturday. That means after I return this computer I reloaded, assuming I don’t have any other support calls, I get to run errands. Those errands almost always include spending money at various stores in my area. Boy, wouldn’t it be nice to do that all in one shopping center?
I hate shopping. I’m a guy, so it comes with the territory. I don’t mind shopping so much when I get to go to any of the following stores.
- Target
- Trader Joes
- Starbucks
- CostCo
- The Apple Store
Now it’s time for some enterprising property development company to build a shopping center that contains all of these stores in the same center. Maybe include a Panda Express or a burrito joint in there, and something with a drive-thru window (to appease the masses).
Shopping nirvana right there friends.
Every now and again I’ll go out and take a few photographs. The few turn into many, the many into many, many more.
I took those?
I had the chance to check out the Temecula Rod Run this past Friday. It was the first day of the event, and it was cruise night. Luckily, I took my camera.
I snapped over 150 photos. From that, I pulled out the best 50. From that, I narrowed it down to the best 33. Cleaned them up, cropped them, boosted the color. You know, did my best to make them cool.
From those 33, I have a few favorites that I would like to share with you this morning.
The arch going into Old Town Temecula. I caught the wind just right, so you see Old Glory waving there as well.
I was able to wrangle an invite to the latest thing Google has made that everyone wants. Google Wave. I keep hearing the same two questions over and over again.
“Is it cool?”
“What does it do?”
To be honest, I don’t know if I can answer either of this questions fully.
This is a product that is still in serious beta. It’s very crashy (from what I have heard) and not quite feature complete (again, from what I have heard). That said, from what I can tell so far, I think it will be cool.
It’s a group collaboration app, not so much an email replacement like many people thought, or chat, which even more people thought. You would use this working on a project, for example. Sure you can chat in real time, but you can also add documents (full drag and drop support, even in Windows if you are using Chrome. I haven’t tried in Firefox yet), videos, images or whatever. I think.
One of the problems I’m having with it is that I don’t have any projects on the go with anyone else that is using it. This is definitely one of those things where a larger user base will be needed to get the most out of it. Using it by yourself doesn’t make sense when there are a bunch of other apps out there that do pretty much the same thing already. It’s going to be using this within a group that will make it really shine and blow people away. Otherwise it’s nothing more than Evernote, if Evernote didn’t sync and you could only use it on the web.
If you get an invite, hit me up over there. I would like to run a dummy project using, just to get an idea of how much power is there.
First, the MINI. Then the MINI again. Then Dad’s Jeep. And, finally, Dad’s Jeep again.
At least when I fix computers, it goes something like this.

Thanks ukpaul for the find.
And, yes, I do have sexy powers. Just ask, I will tell you.
