  5. Lots of folks sayin’ y’all
  6. Deer. On the side of the road. Or. Walking around.

Because I have to say something

So Apple announced a whole pile of new stuff yesterday. I was checking out the little rollout party that Steve did and was impressed.

I really must say that the new {whatever it is} is pretty slick with the built in camera and all. Even like the new photobooth app. Very much fun at your desk when you have nothing better to do, right? And of course front row. Kinda going media center on us, but that’s fine. Still looks slick.

Then, the really big news, was the new iPod. Ok, I have to ask all y’all; Do I really want to watch video on a 2.5″ LCD? I’m thinkin’ not so much.

Also, why is it in ITMS that I know have to pay $1.99 for a music video when 4 days ago they were free? Do they think I’m going pay $1.99 for any episode of a TV show? And then watch it on the 2.5″ display? They are sorely mistaken.

Lets say for a minute that I wanted to download an entire season of shows at $2.00 per show. Most seasons are 25 episodes long. Doing the math real quick that would cost me roughly $50. To watch on a 2.5″ screen? You know, for that kind of money I can buy the DVD and watch it on my kick ass home theatre set-up with better picture and audio quality.

And, besides, why should I pay for content that I can get for free right now? I can watch TV to get the shows I want relatively free of charge when they are shown. Sure there are commercials, but that’s when I go to the bathroom or grab a smoke or check out the latest robot porn. And, if I miss it, I know that I will be able to see it again in re-runs or possibly on DVD. I don’t mind paying for a DVD because the picture and audio quality are far superior to the original broadcast, there aren’t any commercials, and I can watch it on my television.

Let’s just say that I didn’t want to wait for the show to come out on DVD. Or that I don’t want to wait until next season. Can you say bit torrent? I know it may seem like downloading music illegally, but I don’t think so.

How about this: Is downloading a TV program via bit torrent the same as illegally downloading a single song? Maybe. Is downloading a TV program via bit torrent the same as illegally downloading an entire album by a single artist? Absolutely not!

Anyway, I got way off track. I’m just sayin’ I’m not gonna pay $2 for TV shows or music videos. That’s just silly.

New site

The good and honourable jSchwa has started a new news site. So, when you need that Robot News, you’ll know where to go. Oh yea, and leave a comment. jSchwa is getting lonely.

Car Wash Convention

I think I will have to file a formal complaint. Again this year the convention lacked bikini-clad hotties soaping up exotic sports cars. Dammit!
