blog adventures

So, I was checking the latest in crappy bloggery at badblogs tonight. Great stuff abounds.

As an added bonus, the young and honorable jSchwa has also added the extra spiffy new blogger nav bar to the top of the page. I can honestly report that this adds a nice bit of interactivity to the site. What do I mean by that?

The internet is chock full of crappy ‘blogs!

Yea, that’s right. I’m going out on a limb here, I know. Sure, w(t)f isn’t the greatest, but it looks like, and reads like, something professional compared to some of the others out there. No kidding.

The best of the worst are usually done by kids. Lots of aLt CAps, colors that don’t match, bad to non-existent punctuation and spelling that must have come from the land of text messaging. Although I doubt it would make any more sense on the itty bitty screen of my phone. Ugh.

So, if you are looking for a good way to kill a few minutes and get some more information for your ‘how to not do this” list, then by all means head over to badblogs. Once you read what is there, click the next blog link at the very top of the screen and have a great time!

Firefox at Microsoft?

According to this very interesting Wired article, yes:

Meanwhile, Firefox and Opera look awfully appealing. Security is really an industry-wide problem. Just this morning I had to install an update to Firefox to block a flaw that would’ve allowed an attacker to run a program on my system. We’re working around the clock to make Internet Explorer safer, and we’re making changes with our Windows XP Service Pack 2 to make browsing a lot more secure.

This while interviewing Stephen Toulouse, Microsoft’s security program manager.

What does it say to you when the guys that are making the product aren’t even using it.

Everytime I go to purchase something where they have pushy, over-the-top, pain in the ass salesperson, cell phone stores and car lots to be most specific, I always ask to see what they are using/driving. It’s a thing I have. How can you honestly buy something from someone who either is not familiar or has no faith in the product that they are selling?

Also in the above mentioned article, Stephen claims that Windows won’t be truly secure until 2011. Wow, what a ballsy statement. That still 7 years from now. Hell, the lad will have already graduated high school, wrecked at least 1 car and hopefully not gotten anyone pregnant by then.

7 years? Is it too late to jump on the linux bandwagon? Don’t bother try to sell me on the Mac, I’m not having any of that.

From another blog (thanks again John!), but this is some truly funny stuff. I need this phone!

Spammers please note

Your spam emails would be extremely more effective if you: a.) Make sure your time and date settings are correct b.) Make sure your email is in English. c.) Stopped using special ascii characters which render the emails unreadable d.) Try to sell me something that won’t improve my boner. e.) Try to sell me something other than pirated software from some obscure island in the south pacific. f.) Stopped with the bodily function porn. That’s just gross.
g.) Included more girls kissing porn. That is not gross. h.) Stopped with the loans. Really, nobody is going to trust you. ~and~ i.) Stopped with the money scams. C’mon, isn’t it bad enough that grandma has to pay quadruple for her meds? Cut the old folks some slack.

If you do not think that you can abide by the above listed rules, then please see clear to remove my email, plus any of my friends emails, from your lists.

Thank you.

west wing

Major withdrawals. Nothing on Bravo because of the Olympics. Nothing on NBC due to season swap and Olympics.

Sure, next week, but maybe I don’t want to wait that long. I’ve already watched all of season 1 and 2 on DVD. Twice or more.

I’m ready for some more dammit!
