Josh is here

I’m sure you’ve already read and seen that young Josh is here in sunny SoCal for a visit. He’s stoked to say the least (or so he would have me believe). If you don’t believe me, go on over and check for yourself.

Otherwise, trying to get work to upgrade our old computer equipment with expired and obsoleted operating systems. Yes, that’s right, db is asking for….

wait for it….

Money to spend on technology!!! (dramatic music goes here)

And, so that you, my faithful reader knows, I’m not asking for a lot. Actually, the amount of money to upgrade the server and all the workstations in the office is less than a half week of sales at our slowest store. My Gateway guy really came through with some kick ass pricing! Anyway, they of course have to bitch about it to no end, like it’s the end of the world.

It’s not like I’m asking for a budget that, like most normal companies, is 1-2% of revenues. I want to spend a bit more than 12K on new workstations and server. Like pulling teeth.

Then, there is one of the locations at work that was recently aquired. Some of their practices are less than savory, so I’ve been trying to show them the right path. One of the biggest offenses is the sales department has call ID blocking set up on their phones. Call me silly, but don’t only telemarketers and collections agents have call ID blocking on their phones? When you see a call show up on the screen that says unknown or blocked, you don’t answer the phone, do you? Nor do I, or anyone else that I know. I would think that if the caller ID screen actually showed the name of the business, business would increase because people would actually answer the phone, right? Well, according to them, it doesn’t work that way. Not only do they prefer to have call ID blocking on, they also insist on calling the same number sometimes as much as 10-15 times per day, even if they LEAVE A MESSAGE!!!! I’m so done with these people it’s not even funny.

Otherwise, getting ready to race the MINI. I might post again before I go, but I can’t say for sure.

no post today

I’m still mad about the log spam, but I’ve found a fix and will be shutting those idiots down tomorrow probably. I’m almost over it, thanks to a really great bottle of pinot noir. Yea yea, so what if it’s a school night, this was a good bottle of wine.

The good lad Josh arrives for a visit on Friday. Should be fun. He wants to lick a Bentley at the car show on Saturday. Don’t worry, pics will be posted.

Great episodes of West Wing tonight. Why is it again are you not watching this show?

I’m surrounded by people who would rather bitch than fix. No worries, thanks to a really great bottle of pinot noir.

The RIAA is pissing me off. saying that their lawsuit scare has cut back on illegal music downloads. I say it’s iTunes, Napster and the multiple flavor of MMJB floating around instead. iTunes is claiming 30M downloads so far! at a buck a pop? no too shabby.

Xbox players…check out Project Gotham Racing2. It’s a great game! I can’t stop playing, eventhough I had a really great bottle of pinot noir tonight.

Most peeps in CA are all bent about the new imigration laws the president is sending down. Really tho, are they going to go out and pick fruit/vegetables or wash dishes for $6.75 an hour? I don’t think so. They should get back on their cell phones and climb into their SUV’s so they can prepare to cut me off again in the morning. There is more too this I know, but I had a really great bottle of pinot noir tonight.

I guess that’s about it.

it’s official

I’ve been having political issues of late. Mostly with my parties current front runner Howard Dean

I don’t like what he says or how he says it. Just don’t.

Now, tonight I’m checking out server logs and guess what I find? Oh yea, my logs were spammed by 4 different presidential websites:
~howard dean
~carol
~clark
~dick gephardt

I refuse to link or fill in their full address so that they get free google juice. anyway

So now, besides the normal crap for paris hilton and other f’ed up porn sites, I now have to deal with this? And these people are expecting my vote of any kind?

Are these f’ing politians that f’ing desparate to resort to these kinds of tactics? Really? Log spam? C’mon gang, why not just send email to every email address in the US? Plaster your information on every major newspaper? Do something really stupid so you can get on TV. Oh wait….

Anyway, if any of you dumbasses, or your tardbot* webmasters, are reading this, stop it. I don’t want what you are selling.
