ok, you have to check this out!.
I was never this good with legos
Way to go Thunderbird!
I’ve been using Tbird for about 4 months and it’s great so far. Killer filters, built in RSS reader, junk mail blocking and, because it doesn’t use in IE or ActiveX components, and damned good virus blocker too!
My next job
Something we’ve been talking about in the office for a few weeks that has finally made news coverage (not to mention John bringing it up) , is what I will be doing for my new career move.
I’m going to become a Fortune 100 CEO.
Which company? Doesn’t really matter. The way I see it, I’ll roll in with a ‘properly’ executed contract that has a fat compensation bonus for when I start to suck and it’s time to boot me. Then, when that fateful day happens, I’ll walk away with my huge compensation package (include a generous amount of company stock) and not have to work again for the rest of my life!
Hey, it could work, right?
I want one
It seems that everyone is upgrading their phones these days. Many are getting one of the coolest out there. Yea, you know which one I’m talking about…
The Palm Treo 650
Yea, cool stuff. One of these would be huge for me and save me many headaches and frustrations, mostly from having a better contact list handy and bluetooth support so my dammed headset doesn’t keep wrapping around the gear shift!
But, there is a slight problem.
My carrier is Verizon Wireless (VZW). If you haven’t checked lately, they are the stodgy old guy of service providers, offering up the most boring phones you can find. Heck, they just added a camera phone 8 months ago, the Treo 600 last month and none of the phones they offer current have bluetooth support.
I like Verizon too. I get calls everywhere I go. My whole family is on Verizon too, so it saves me a ton of dough. But I want the new Treo!!!!!
I still have a year left on my contract with them. If it’s not available by March ’06, I’m out!
Lots to say
Covering a few topics here, since I haven’t really posted anything in a few days…
The rain…I heard it never rains in California, except when the year starts with a 2 and ends with a 4 or 5. It rained, non-stop, at home for the last week, just like everywhere else. Remarkably the lake hasn’t started to flood, although every major spring in the Cleveland National forest has been uncovered and is running at full strenght, making a huge mess of the roads. At least Ortega Hwy. is still open.
House Hunting…Actually have been doing this a bit more, trying to get it in my head that once I do buy something, the lad and I will be living off dog food. $300K for, what they call, a condo? Will upstairs neighbors? Without direct access to the garage? That, my friends, is not a condo. That is an apartment. Man, it was ugly. If I were to get into something like that, I guarantee that I would just get all bent out of shape just walking in because I would be realizing that I’m paying probably $800 more than rent would be (not including any association fees) for something that I wouldn’t really ‘own’. Ugh.
Job Hunting…Yea, well. Time. I need the time.
